Overseas Training in Australia

The Ceylon College of Physicians wishes to receive applications for above post from the eligible candidates. This is a salaried training post suitable for Post-MD(Medicine) trainees in Internal Medicine. Selection will be done after an interview conducted by the Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals group/ South Metropolitan Health Service, in collaboration with the CCP.

Selected candidates are required to obtain the approval of the PGIM, through the Board of Study in Medicine before proceeding further.

Eligibility criteria to apply

1. Should have fulfilled all requirements as necessary to proceed with the mandatory foreign training component of the Post-MD(Medicine)-Internal Medicine training programme of the PGIM – University of Colombo.
2. Should meet the English language skills registration standards of the Medical Board of Australia
3. Should meet the essential and desirable selection criteria required by the South Metropolitan Health Service (South Metropolitan Health Service Job Description attached).
4. Should meet the eligibility criteria for registration by the Medical Board of Australia, and desirably recognised as a trainee with the appropriate post graduate training college such as Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).
5. Should be an Associate Member of the Ceylon College of Physicians (Applicants for associate membership, awaiting approval of the council are also eligible to apply).

1. A one-page cover letter
2. Applicant’s curriculum vitae with contact details of post MD trainer as the referee (not exceeding four A4 pages)
3. A document addressing the selection criteria (not exceeding three A4 pages)
4. Document to prove associate membership of the CCP (If pending council approval, please send copy of application and payment receipt)
