The Ceylon College of Physicians (CCP) proudly announces the induction of Professor Namal Wijesinghe as the 50th President of the College for the year 2026.
Professor Wijesinghe was officially inducted on 9 January 2026 and has set the theme for the year as “Achieving Health Excellence through Person-Centred Care.” His leadership vision emphasizes elevating healthcare standards through the integration of clinical excellence, compassion, and patient-focused care.
He currently serves as a Professor of Medicine at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University and is a highly qualified cardiologist with advanced specialist training from New Zealand and Canada.
Under his leadership, the College aims to strengthen professional standards, Achieving Health Excellence Through Person Centered Care.
