Joining Ceylon College of Physicians entitles you to many benefits. We welcome you to join with CCP and be part of its journey as the premier professional organisation for the specialists in Internal Medicine and its finer specialities in Sri Lanka.

Benefits of Associate Membership

  • Discounted rates for attending our symposia and events such as the annual academic sessions, speciality updates, and other academic events
  • Eligibility to take part in the Young Physicians’ Forum and compete for prestigious awards
  • Eligibility to apply for our research grants
  • Receive regular information on CCP initiatives and training programmes
*The Associate Membership will lapse automatically on completion of ten (10) years as an Associate member or obtaining Full Membership or Overseas Membership of the college. **Associate members shall not be entitled to hold office in the Council of the College or vote at meetings of the College.

Requirements you need to apply for Associate Membership

  • Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka
  • A registered medical practitioner who holds a primary medical degree recognised by the Sri Lanka Medical Council AND has been successful at the Selection Examination in Medicine for MD (Medicine) training AND is registered with the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, Colombo for MD (Medicine)
  • A letter from the Director, Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, Colombo and the Trainer of the respective applicant who is a member of the College

Benefits of Full Membership

  • Full members shall be entitled to hold office in the Council of the College and to vote at meetings of the College
  • Discounted rates for attending our symposia and events such as the annual academic sessions, speciality updates, and other academic events
  • Receive regular information on CCP initiatives and training programmes

Requirements you need to apply for Full Membership

  • Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka
  • A registered medical practitioner who holds a degree of MD Medicine of the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, Colombo in Medicine AND is Board Certified as a Specialist by the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, Colombo
    OR
    An equivalent overseas qualification acceptable by the Council of the Ceylon College of Physicians AND is Board certified as a Specialist by the specialist/ postgraduate boards of the relevant country
    OR
    A degree MD of the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, Colombo in related field of medicine such as Paediatrics, Pathology, Psychiatry, Microbiology, Radiology, Dermatology, Haematology or any other field of medicine that is accepted by the Council of the Ceylon College of Physicians AND is Board Certified as a Specialist by the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, Colombo
  • The application should be supported by two (2) members of the Ceylon College of Physicians of at least five (5) years standing

Requirements you need to apply for Overseas Membership

  • Should be a citizen of a country other than Sri Lanka
  • A registered medical practitioner who holds a degree of MD Medicine of the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, Colombo in Medicine AND is Board Certified as a Specialist by the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, Colombo
    OR
    An equivalent overseas qualification acceptable by the Council of the Ceylon College of Physicians AND is Board Certified as a Specialist by the Specialist/ Postgraduate Boards of the relevant country
  • The application should be supported by two Members of the College of at least five (5) years standing
  • The applicant should furnish evidence of current membership of a recognised professional medical body of his/her country of employment/residence
  • The Council of the College shall consider each application individually and decide on suitability for Overseas Membership
  • Overseas Members shall not be entitled to hold office of the Council of the College or vote at meetings of the College
