Welcome to the Ceylon College of Physicians new website
The Ceylon College of Physicians came into being on the 25th of July 1967 in the Consultants lounge of the NHSL (then General Hospital Colombo). The inaugural meeting was held on the 26th of September 1967. The transactions of the Ceylon College of Physicians was our first journal (in 1967), later re-launched as the Journal of the Ceylon College of Physicians in 1975. The CCP became the first examining body outside the UK to offer MRCP examination, which it has held since 1971. We now have grown with our own home at Rajagiriya and have more than 600 members. We are leaders in the field of CPD and have a biannual journal and a newsletter for our membership. More
Message from the President
Dear Fellows and Members,
Let me first thank all of you for bestowing on me the honour and privilege of serving the Ceylon College of Physicians as its 37th President. I pledge to do my very best to continue the excellent work done by the distinguished past presidents.
I thank all the members who have kindly agreed to grace the council in 2013. We are privileged to have many past presidents and senior members who can guide us with their wisdom, and many energetic young members who can actively help us in the various activities planned for the year.
The theme for the year 2013 is “Physicians for the Future”, and the many activities we have planned will focus on the young physician members of the College.

Dr Udaya Ranawaka elected President, Ceylon College of Physicians
Dr Udaya Ranawaka was inducted as the President of the Ceylon College of Physicians by Prof Sarath Lekamwasam at a ceremony held at the Kings Court, Cinnamon Lakeside, Colombo on 19th January 2013.
